TC Ukraine new women's home purchased

Our alternative ice skating campaign brought in 7,000 euro this year and that money was intended for the purchase of a house in Ukraine where women can live with their children. Women who come out of a life of addiction, prostitution, and sometimes homelessness.

๐Ÿ‘‰ We can now inform you that the house has been purchased!

Director Sergey Glushko from Teen Challenge Ukraine sent us some photos and an update. If all goes well, they will receive the key April 1st and then they can start refurbishing and furnishing.

Because a donation had also come in through Global Teen Challenge, they were able to buy a larger house in much better condition than originally intended.

This house is already connected to water, sewerage, gas, and electricity.

The house has a floor space of approximately 90 m2, there are three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and pantry, and an attic.

There is also a lot of land near the house, more than enough to create a playground for the children and a vegetable garden where the women can grow their own vegetables.

In the first photo, you can see directors Sergey and Irina Romanenko in front of the house. They are very happy and grateful that very soon another safe place can be offered to women and their children.

They expect to be able to accommodate twelve women and children in the new women's home.

So thank you again to everyone who made this possible. We will keep you informed.

All donations, large and small, for all our projects are always welcome and can be directed at St. Traveling Light in Papendrecht, IBAN: NL91RABO0118582275 BIC: RABONL2U, stating the project you want to support.

Project school for children-at-risk, Armenia

In January 2020 our ice skating team raised funds for the work of Teen Challenge in Armenia. TC was able to purchase a big property and opened up a second rehab center. You can see their thank you video HERE.

The rehab centers are running, the work continues. Praise God. But because of the current situation in Armenia (war, political unrest etc.) Gagik and Lusine Mkrtchyan decided to also start a ministry for orphans and children at risk.

They will be opening up a school for spiritual, educational, and professional skills teaching, depending on the children's abilities. Because of the war, there are at least ten thousand orphans and widows in the country at the moment.

Gagik and Lusine already took away almost a hundred children (see pictures) and women from villages on fire and from very dangerous places. Many children are in the risk zone to use drugs, alcohol and to be out in the streets. That's why they want to have this school for them.

As a Christian nation, Armenia is surrounded by hostile groups and countries and experiences a war of terror attacks and persecution.

Teen Challenge Armenia fights this war without weapons, because they realize they are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against forces of spiritual darkness.

They wrote us a letter, asking for our participation. They will need funds to set up the school, to purchase materials, to feed the kids etc.

If you want to help to give these kids hope and a future, please send your donation to St. Traveling Light, Papendrecht, IBAN: NL91RABO0118582275, BIC: RABONL2U and don't forget to mention: TC ARMENIA.

๐Ÿ‘‰When in the USA you can make your tax-deductible gift payable to EEO Inc. Make sure to mention: TC ARMENIA.

Let's do it! Let's follow up on God's Word and take care of the widows and orphans.

THANK YOU for your donations and your prayers!

Project water installation Life House, TC Netherlands

In January we visited Stephan & Marianne Barendse from Teen Challenge Netherlands. Since 2014 they have been using the beautiful building that is now known as the Life Center.

The Life Center receives people who have life-controlling problems associated with housing issues (homeless, in plain Dutch).

The center has 17 rooms including staff and guest rooms. Teen Challenge was able to buy the building in March 2020!

As the owner of the building, Teen Challenge is now also responsible for all safety measures in the building. There are strict requirements for residential buildings. Fire safety has already been brought up to code.

Unfortunately, it turned out that the water installation does not meet the legionella prevention requirements (pfff). Fortunately, no legionella has ever been diagnosed (this is checked regularly).

It has been decided to make the heating installation more sustainable, instead of rerouting pipes. This will also result in energy savings. Sponsoring for this project has already been found.

An amount of approximately 7,000 euro is still needed for the replacement of pipes and tubes. These are costs that are outside the normal daily expenses to run the center. So, we want to help bring (part of) the needed amount together.

If you also want to participate, make a donation to St. Traveling Light in Papendrecht, IBAN: NL91RABO0118582275 BIC: RABONL2U, stating TC Netherlands.

๐Ÿ‘‰When in the USA you can make your tax-deductible gift payable to EEO Inc. Make sure to mention: TC NETHERLANDS.

THANK YOU!
