Financial report 2020

We are quite big for a small organization, we often say jokingly ๐Ÿ˜€

  • An international network of more than thirty countries,
  • a prominent place in our own town thanks to Twinkeltje and De Schor,
  • a steady group of loyal supporters and
  • more than half a million euro given away to good causes since we founded Traveling Light 10 years ago.

Our treasurer Martin de Haas has made up the financial report over 2020 and it turns out that in 2020, despite the current global crisis, we received almost 78,000 euro in donations from all of you and we were able to distribute all this over dozens of projects throughout Europe. A wonderful result for which we are very grateful!

As you can see, we are not using the gifts for anything else than the announced projects. Whatever comes in is also given away, so you can always be sure that your donations will actually arrive at their destination. A short annual report will soon be available on our website.

๐Ÿ‘‰The projects we support almost always have to do with offering help and hope to the poor, the homeless, the addicted, the prostitutes, the children, the prisoners, and the lonely.

At this moment donations are coming in for the purchase of a Teen Challenge women's home in Ukraine. Great to see this enthusiasm, despite the fact that will not have an ice skating fundraiser event this year.

In Twinkeltje and De Schor, the January proceeds will go to Brian Slater's work in Netanya, Israel.

With his organization Abundant Bread of Salvation, he cares for the elderly, the poor, Holocaust survivors, and single mothers. It is of course always possible to give a specified donation for this. We will make sure it gets there.

All donations, large and small, for all our projects are always welcome and can be directed at St. Traveling Light in Papendrecht, IBAN: NL91RABO0118582275 BIC: RABONL2U., stating the country or project you want to support.

Project new women's home Teen Challenge, Ukraine

Each year in January we announce our Weissensee fundraiser project. The 200 km ice skating event is always our biggest, most fun, and most-watched fundraising event of the year. Our ice skating team has been in full training for months! ๐Ÿ’ช

This year, however, all ice skating activities on the Weissensee in Austria have been canceled. Pretty sad, but it is what it is.

We had already selected a great project, namely the purchase of a house in Berdychiv, Ukraine where women can live with their children. Women who come out of a life of addiction, prostitution, and sometimes homelessness.

Directors Sergey and Irina Romanenko are no strangers to us. Over the years we have supported them with donations for various projects in and around the existing Teen Challenge men's and women's rehab centers in the same region.

We have also visited several times. It is fantastic to see how people literally experience the love of Jesus and are being encouraged, equipped, and helped on their way to startting a new life

The house they currently want to buy has two floors, a garden, and several rooms. Obviously, it needs a lot of renovation, but that will be next ๐Ÿ˜€

The landlord is asking about 7,000 euro for this house. Traveling Light would like to help Teen Challenge Ukraine to take this step. Will you help too?

Please, send your gift as soon as possible to St. Traveling Light, Papendrecht, IBAN: NL91RABO0118582275, BIC: RABONL2U stating: WOMEN'S HOME.

๐Ÿ‘‰When in the USA you can make your tax-deductible gift payable to EEO Inc. Make sure to mention: TC UKRAINE BERDYCHIV.

It would be a wonderful and encouraging start of the new year if Teen Challenge could purchase this house. Since it is winter there, the sooner the better!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION!

Looking back at December blessings

Dear friends, first of all, we want to wish you a blessed, beautiful, and above all healthy 2021.

Project-wise, we can look back at an awesome month of December in which, thanks to your generous gifts, we were able to make many people happy.

  • We were able to donate 2,000 euro for Operation Christmas Joy from 222 Ministries, they handed out Christmas packages to Iranian refugee children in Turkey.
  • We have also been able to donate 2,000 euro for the food and fuel packages that have been distributed to the poor and elderly in Moldova.
  • We were also able to donate 3,000 euro for the renovation work of Atelier Cafรฉ De Schor, in our hometown Papendrecht. A quotation has now been received and hopefully work can start soon.
  • We donated 2,000 euro for the coffeehouse work of Teen Challenge among the hopeless and addicted in Iceland. With that, we have planted our flag (so to speak) on Icelandic soil just before the end of 2020. We believe that when we sow seed somewhere, we can expect a harvest as well.
  • Another donation came in for the Christmas packages for the sailors in the ports of Ghent and Terneuzen, so we were able to help evangelist Alexander Ebserson with a total of 3,000 euro.

We know, it's just numbers and figures and they are not the core of the ministry. But it is still good to mention how many initiatives and projects we have been able to support, just in the last weeks of 2021 alone. December is the month of giving, after all!

Isn't it wonderful to make a 'tour' of Europe in this way? We are entering the new year full of hope and expectation. Hopefully, you will do so as well!

"So, let your light shine before men ..."
