Project passenger van Teen Challenge Moldova

Our friends at Teen Challenge Moldova have launched a fundraising campaign to purchase a new passenger van.

Teen Challenge Moldova operates drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers in Soceteni and Falesti (we raised funds for the latter earlier this year through the Weissensee campaign).

In addition, they have a church in Falesti—frequented by many men and women, who have been in the program, along with their families—and a coffee house in Bălți.

It is wonderful to see so many people visiting the coffee house, which often serves as a first step toward recovery and healing.

It is often there that people hear the Gospel for the first time and learn that there is hope for freedom from addiction.

The directors, staff members, and volunteers at Teen Challenge are almost all former addicts themselves—people with lived experience.

They love sharing their testimonies, offering hope to those considering entering a rehabilitation program.

The rehab centers, church, and coffee house are located far apart, making reliable and safe transportation essential. There is a great deal of travel back and forth between the various locations.

The passenger van they currently use is old and requires major repairs. It is time for a new one.

A fundraising campaign is now underway, and we at Traveling Light would like to help them to raise at least part of the funds needed for a new(er) Sprinter passenger van.
