It goes without saying that the political and economic situation in the country remains extremely concerning and fragile. The unrest in the Middle East continues unabated.
Due to the deteriorating economic conditions, Garo and his team at the rehabilitation center are facing a variety of challenges.
They have recently decided to expand their existing beekeeping operation. This provides, for those involved, the opportunity to learn new skills on various levels while also generating income.
Garo writes: "Our goal is to raise enough funds over the next two months to purchase 200 beehives, ensuring they are ready in time for the start of the season."
In the meantime, Garo has also begun fundraising for the construction of a center for women, located next to the existing center for men.
We hope to meet with Garo next week in Italy during the Europe Teen Challenge leadership conference—a great opportunity to catch up properly.
Expanding the beekeeping operation will allow them to produce and sell more honey, generating additional income to ensure their vital work can continue. Prayers are, of course, always welcome—for safety, peace, and provision.
